Kinsta costs three times more and, on the entry plan, gives you one WordPress install and 10GB of disk. Cloudways gives you a whole server for $11 — put three client sites on it and the per-site cost collapses to under $4, while Kinsta's equivalent (the WP 2 plan at $70) has gone the other way. What Kinsta's premium actually buys is the support desk: engineers who know WordPress, unlimited migrations done for you, and someone else's problem at 3am. That is worth real money — but it is worth it when the site generates revenue that dwarfs $35/mo. For a personal site, a portfolio, or a handful of small client builds, you are buying an insurance policy priced for a business you do not yet have.

The calculation inverts the moment downtime costs more than the hosting.
